Thursday 4/8/10:
Norfolk, VA Third
Annual Sea Level Singer / Songwriter Festival. Doors
open at 6:30, concert starts at 7:30 pm. This year's festival will
be kicked off with a concert by Ben Taylor - son of James Taylor
& Carly Simon. I'm excited to announce that I'll be the opening
act for that show! It'll be held on Thursday, April 8th at
the Naro Theater in Ghent (1503 Colley Ave., Norfolk) There
are still tickets left and they're $35 at the door. This
4-day festival benefits a wonderful local organization that's well
worth supporting. It's called Tidewater
Arts Outreach (TAO) and their mission is to uplift the
human spirit by bringing live, quality music and arts experiences
to people in Hampton Roads who are in nursing homes, hospitals,
shelters and dependent care programs. This will be TAO's 3rd annual
Sea Level Festival and they've put together quite an array of festivities.
Official "Sea Level Buskers" will be filling the street
corners in Ghent with live music and other TAO artists will perform
concerts at smaller area venues to extend the celebration. But
wait, there's more! There will also be the second annual Emerging
Artist Showcase, a silent art auction, guitar raffle, etc. Music
lovers, don't forget to mark this weekend in your calendar. For
more information go here.
